My heart tonight...

Vulnerability is beautiful, demure and sweet;
You share secrets and fears, your soul in complete.
To the person for which you share, you give them a key;
It unlocks the "truest" you, for their eyes to see.
In love and in friendship or matters of the heart:
This bridge that your building is the most important part.
It allows the other to see the real you;
Your hopes, fears and dreams are clearly in view.
The bridge is built, the connection is made;
A respect and understanding you trust will not fade.
But be careful with whom you are vulnerable to;
For the wrong hands can turn the tides on you.
Contemptous hands, can take that key;
And unlock, with their words, pain and misery.
They can steal from your hopes and mock your fears;
Sweet vulnerability, has now left you broken in tears.
I pray you are wise and use discression at best;
For this is wisdom at it's finest, the ultimate test.
For those of you, holding someone else's key;
Guard it with good judgement, love, and maturity.
For holding that key is a sacred right;
Keep it close to your heart and clear in your sight.
Good guardianship of someone else's key;
Shows character that revives trust and sanctity.
