Tired
Tired of the betrayal, tired of the lies;
Weary from people who live in disguise.
Angry from the hurt that burdens my heart;
Want to get away for a fresh new start.
The ties that bind, I need to break;
But I have another heart that's at stake.
Tired of always trying to do what's right;
A moment of selfishness could end this fight.
Why can't I be selfish like others I know;
Why can't I concede and just let go?
What moral code keeps me bound so tight;
that keeps my spirits down and me up at night?
Why does it seem that the bad always win;
They revvel in lies and enjoy their sin.
And the most it seems that wears me down;
Is continuously smiling when I want to frown.
Weary from people who live in disguise.
Angry from the hurt that burdens my heart;
Want to get away for a fresh new start.
The ties that bind, I need to break;
But I have another heart that's at stake.
Tired of always trying to do what's right;
A moment of selfishness could end this fight.
Why can't I be selfish like others I know;
Why can't I concede and just let go?
What moral code keeps me bound so tight;
that keeps my spirits down and me up at night?
Why does it seem that the bad always win;
They revvel in lies and enjoy their sin.
And the most it seems that wears me down;
Is continuously smiling when I want to frown.
